Are you struggling to find treats that are healthy and safe for your Guinea Pigs to eat?
Well look no further, as on this blog we will be giving you links to some of the most loved treats recommended by our Guinea Pigs themselves!
Let’s talks about treats
I just want to make it clear that Guinea Pigs DO NOT need to have treats in their diet. They are simply there as a ‘treat’ and should only be fed occasionally.
There are a ton of treats advertised for Guinea Pigs, that really shouldn’t be. These are normally filled with artificial sweeteners and provide very little nutritional value to your Guinea Pig.
On the other hand there are some treats out there that are all naturally made and do have some health benefits for your Guinea Pigs!
It’s all about knowing your ingredients and what is good and bad for our little furries.
Small Businesses
I have found that the best treats you can ever buy your Guinea Pig are from the small businesses on Etsy… why? Because they’re home made, completely natural and you know exactly where they are coming from. I also like how if you have any questions about what is in the treats, they’re happy to give you a list. Here are a few:

Our boys absolutely love all the treats from PiggyCare shop, but especially love the Pea Flakes, Green Oats, Parsley Stalks and all forages.

The Woodland Range are exclusive to Pets at home and are probably the best in the store when it comes to treats. They’re all natural and no preservatives.
They have a range of treats and forages, which my boys do have sometimes.
There are many treats and snacks advertised for Guinea Pigs, which shouldn’t be.. the worst for it, is unfortunately pets at home, as their stuff contains a lot of artificial ingredients like dye, flavours, sugars etc and contain a lot of foods that as classed as ‘unsafe’ for Guinea Pigs.
